The Expat Files: Living in Latin America A guide to moving to Latin America, finding work, and settling in.

A Report on Muslims in Latin America:
Stateside gringos like you occasionally ask about the so-called Latin, Middle Eastern contingent of people. There are, as you might know, hundreds of thousands of Muslims and Jews living in Latin America at this time... many of them recent Expats. It all can be quite confusing since some have been here for generations and live very low-profile lives while others have built huge business empires, like billionaire Carlos Slim- whose father, Khalil Salim Haddad Aglamaz, was actually a Lebanese Catholic who came to Mexico from Lebanon and then changed his name to Julian Slim.
Just lately, more and more of us are interested in the Latin Muslim community especially (did you even know there was such a group?). Its all about gringos up north getting nervous and wanting to know Latin Muslim attitudes toward the first world and the USA. And yes, there are rumors (surely fact) of Muslim fanatics slipping through the Mexican border… so people up north are rightfully worried. What about it? Here’s what you need to know for now….
