JOHNNY’S JANUARY 2021 LATIN AMERICAN “EXPAT INSIDER” SEMINAR HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO BAD SCIENCE AND US GOVT STUPIDITY:
The latest Latin American Seminar was scheduled for January 8th thru 14th, 2021. However, since the “usual suspect’ Cov-Idiot knuckleheads in government along with talking head scientists (in the pocket of big pharma) arbitrarily place restrictions at airports and impose new lockdowns (i.e. Soviet style house arrests), please stay tuned for the new rescheduled dates (estimated to be in late Summer). That will happen when USA and Latin America airports drop the Cov-idiot test requirements, scheduled to be when so-called "Herd Immunity" has been achieved. We’re on it and will keep you posted…

FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME! Go into my Expat Files archives and see all the many examples why Costa Rica is a BAD “Plan B” destination. Yes, it’s a great place to visit. I should know. I lived there 3 years myself.
BUT I REPEAT!!!There are so many reasons to skip CR (let me count the ways)…. besides the fact its 1st world expensive (caused by the masses of gringos) the ever smiling, seemingly wonderful CR locals have grown truly jaded and deeply resentful. But you won’t see that side until you’ve been had. You can’t blame them, after decades of putting up with hordes of demanding gringos making 10x the dough they do and watching gringos completely redesign the place to suit their own 1st world sun and fun vacationing demands. After observing 30+ years of invading (often crass and demanding) gringos, CR commoners, lawyers, cops, bureaucrats, realtors etc., etc., have learned countless ways to get over on gringos. As a result, EVERY EXPAT AND GRINGO I KNOW WHO HAS EVER LIVED IN CR FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD HAS BEEN SCAMMED, GOUGED AND/OR RIPPED OF MULTIPLE TIMES (including me). And though you may be a low budget backpacker, without the to dough to invest or get involved in a business or project, you’ll still be a target and get gouged and scammed on the small things like a thousand paper cuts (or the Chinese water torture).
By the way… most gringos drop CR like a hot potato after having boots on the ground experiences in other Latin countries. Generally, gringo who fall in love with the place and stay have very limited experience with other Latin countries.
